Where the Wild Things PlayNature Play, STEM Play & Art for little wild things on the Redlands Coast

Thanks for having us! Both kiddos had a fantastic time. It’s good to finally see something they can both do and keep them both interested! Great idea with making it 1.5hrs, they didn’t want to leave after just 1hr haha. See you again soon!

Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you cater to?
Our playgroups are currently a mixed-age session, for children aged 0-12, and children under 6 months are free. We do our best to ensure most materials are taste safe and suitable for little hands, but supervision is always the parent’s responsibility.
Can I bring more than one child?
Siblings are half price, and children under 6 months are free and do not require a ticket.
Allergies/Sensitivities
Majority of our activities are geared towards using the natural materials (leaves, rocks, sticks, gumnuts etc) around us for play, but we will occasionally use sensory bases to enhance our play experience such as homemade playdough, pasta, lentils, and common art materials as well as seasonal herbs, flowers and fruit grown by us on our Carbrook farm and other local sources.
If you have any concerns about known allergens/sensitivities please contact us at hello@wildclovercollective.com.au at least 24hrs prior to session time so we can make accommodations.
Is this a drop and go situation?
We are not a childcare service 🙂 Please make sure you are in the mindset to be fully present and engage with your child during the session.
What does a session look like?
Our nature immersion playgroup sessions follow a loose routine:
* Shared story time and seasonal songs (I promise not to judge anyone’s singing if you don’t judge mine!)
* Short nature walk & talk to gather natural materials and develop language by spotting local flora/fauna (parents required to attend)
* Bring our nature materials back to “base camp” to use in our playdough, mud kitchen/dramatic play areas and art/craft stations for the rest of the session.
Thompson’s Beach sessions will utilise the beach for free play where the weather and tides are appropriate. This may mean we don’t have a mud kitchen setup, and focus more on water/sand/loose parts play instead.
We encourage families to attend regularly when possible, so we can cater activities towards the interests, skills and build upon the knowledge of our little learners, as well as strengthen friendships between children and families.
How long is the session?
Our sessions run for 1.5hrs, beginning with our seated story-time which will begin at 10am. You are free to arrive and leave at whatever time suits your family best!
What should I bring with me?
- Hat & Sunscreen
- Towel & Change of clothes
- Drinking water
- Snacks (please be mindful of excluding nuts if you can, in case we have anaphylatic friends joining us)
- Water shoes are recommended for Thompson’s Beach sessions.
Cancellations
Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable, but if you do need to cancel you will receive a credit for a future session- this can be used at any of our playgroup locations.
Weather Cancellation
In the case of light rain, we will continue playgroup as planned (bring your gumboots!) and will notify all attendees via text if the weather calls for a cancellation. You will be credited a make-up session which can be used at any of our playgroup locations.
